I come from a family of helpers and service including combat veterans and law enforcement officers, who instilled in me a deep calling to serve and others in my community. Hearing their stories of courage and discipline provided me with an intimate understanding of the challenges faced by the human condition which led me to study psychology to understand people and why they do what they do. My love for humans and understanding human nature also led me to become a holistic wellness coach to support my community. As the executive director/founder of the Integrative Wellness Institute in 2013 in Pasadena I've been honored to support to my community get healthier, and live more meaningful lives.
I believe humans are naturally relational people who thrive in healthy relationships and communities. One of the best ways to have relationship harmony and connections, self awareness is key. I've learned that most people seek counseling when an important relationship is struggling, or they're suffering from a loss of some sort. I've also learned that when relationships inspired and fulfilling life challenges are easier to manage and overcome. When relationships are broken, even minor problems can feel overwhelming. The therapeutic relationship can help to bridge the gap from struggle to victory.
Working as a teen psychotherapist in the Los Angeles Unified School District was a transformative chapter for me because I walked alongside teens facing pregnancy, social/academic anxiety, addiction/overdose, bullying, family struggles, and so much more. I meet every teen with compassionate understanding while providing them with practical tools to gain agency in their life.
When working with California Veterans Health Initiative supporting veterans mental health, I utilize a trauma-informed approach to provide compassionate care and understanding with veterans living in California.
As a medical family therapist I offer a unique perspective due to my personal medical journey of receiving numerous childhood surgeries due to a congenital birth defect. I'm able to provide support during the emotional toll of being diagnosed with an acute or chronic illness/disease for the patient and their loved ones. Since 2005 I’ve helped other women navigate the emotional and relationship weight of suffering from the heartache of infertility with holistic coaching support.
As a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, I weave faith into my practice endeavoring to nurture your body-mind, soul and spirit. When not working you’ll catch me in nature, laughing with loved ones, or whipping up a batch of cookies in my kitchen—baking is my love language.
Your well-being matters to me
