Growing up in a family of helpers and public service instilled in me a deep calling to serve others. My family's stories of courage and discipline while in the military and as LOEs have provided me with a lifelong curiosity of human psychology, desire to understand the human mind and behavior, and help.
When I founded the Integrative Wellness Institute in 2013 in Altadena-Pasadena my mission was to provide a space for compassionate listening, intentionality, and empowerment to improve lives and relationships. I've had the honor of supporting countless men, women and children achieve their wellness goals. Re-imagined in 2024 as Flintridge Wellness, offering integrative options, including psychotherapy, you have a place to come to for holistic healing with coaching and psychotherapy.
As innately relational beings, humans thrive in healthy relationships and communities. One of the best ways to cultivate relationship harmony is awareness of self which nurtures relationships because when you can identify and communicate your needs to others deeper connections form and trust is strengthened. Approaching life and healing with a holistic approach and in a safe, supportive environment opportunities arise to reveal what's essential over what no longer works for you. Self-awareness helps you make decisions quicker, identify what no longer works, and calmly step into your future empowered and confident.
As a high school therapist in Los Angeles I supported teens facing pregnancy, social/academic anxiety, substance use, bullying, family struggles, and other mental health issues. Since my holistic therapeutic posture also includes a trauma-informed approach I create a gentle space to allow the therapeutic process to organically unfold at its own pace.
Coming from a large family of veterans and first responders, PLUS, counseling veterans with US Vets Outside the Wire who've served in the Gulf War, OEF/OIF/OND and Vietnam, I've been privileged to gain an understanding of the unique challenges both veterans and first responders endure with self, relationships, families, and that their children experience as well.
As a medical family therapist I support the emotional and grieving process of receiving an unexpected medical diagnosis, the struggles of infertility, and the ups and downs of continued treatments and living with a chronic diagnosis, pregnancy support for both adult and pediatric diagnoses. As a certified holistic wellness coach since 2008 I've helped thousands integrate lifestyle medicine and compassionate encouragement into their health & wellness care plans.
As a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary I integrate the importance of faith and spiritual health into my holistic practice because a healthy human nurtures their body-mind, soul and spiritual health.
My life is full enjoying nature, valuing time with loved ones, and being on a horse as much as possible.
Your well-being matters to me
