I love supporting others to embrace living life with confidence, authenticity and peace. Life can get so busy it's easy to live unconsciously on autopilot. I believe optimal health and well-being requires regular maintenance of all aspects of health: body, mind and spirit. Most people know how to attend to their physical health (eating right, getting enough sleep, brushing teeth...) Mental and emotional health requires the same attention and maintenance to stay healthy and strong. It's vital to periodically ask and honestly answer the questions, "Do I feel balanced?" "Am I stressed about anything?" and "Am I still bothered by what happened to me in the past?" Just like you go to a physical healthcare professional to attend to your heart organ, your ears & hearing, or to treat a broken bone it's important to reach out to a mental health professional to attend to your mind combining cognition and neuroscience to support your brain health and how it processes life's events and your environment. How you mentally process life's events and circumstances significantly impacts your mental and emotional health.
Growing up in family of helpers, helping others is in my DNA. I was born with the ability to reframe situations, discern the silver linings, and opportunities for growth and development. As an early childhood education teacher I observed how words impact a child's (and parents) processing about a situation. My mission and my hope is to help leave the world a better place by supporting others to build confidence to have a more hopeful, peaceful life. Studying marriage and family therapy specializing in medical family therapy at Fuller Theological Seminary has given me a strong integrative foundation to support the body/mind/spirit. Like anyone else, I've overcome my own life challenges with professional support who helped strengthen my mind-body and relationships. I believe in HOPE, and believe that when someone doesn't have their own hope another person's hope for them can be very powerful. I enjoy my free time spending time with family and friends, being in nature, on mountain trails with a horse, and baking cookies.
